London Summer Streetstyle and Peter Pan Syndrome

Tee - SEVEN SISTERS LONDON @ THE STING
Black and silver Cross Necklace - THE STING
Mini skirt - LA GUAPA
"Caroll" Studded Sandals - ISABEL MARANT
"Ingrid" Studded Leather bag - ROBERTO CAVALLI
Studded neon bracelet - EXCELSIOR MILANO

Summer has finally arrived :-) This is a (basic) streetstyle outfit for these warm days built around two funny and teen* pieces I bought in my last trip to London: a neon stars printed tee and a little cross necklace*, both found at The Sting in Regent's Street, where many trendy, fast fashion stores are located. I matched the tee and necklace with a basic white mini skirt, my studded leather bag and my new studded sandals. Btw... it seems I'm getting along quite well with them, they are not tall like the super heels I'm usually wearing, but they add a special accent to my everyday look. What do you think?

* Am I Peter Pan in my heart as Michael Jackson? no (I hope) I'm not... I just like to dress easy and casual at weekends...

Vintage Sandals and Are Men Like High Heels?

(Ph. Private)
Leather jacket - PINKO
Silk mini-dress - PINKO
Vintage Sandals with swarosvki - SERGIO ROSSI

High heels are like men... : there are good ones who hurt us, those you don’t like from the beginning; those impossible, which can never be yours (crazy expensive/sold out in every store in the world…); those that appeal you at first, but then you realize that they are nothing special… and finally those that you'll never get tire of having with you!*
Well, the heels of these photos belong to this last category… they are a “vintage” pair of Sergio Rossi sandals with little swarovski (I bought them back in 2003...): I never get tired about them...

My "message" for you, girls, in this post is “let’s accessorize"! Nothing new, as super expert fashionistas you already know about this: investing in good accessories, particularly shoes, it’s one of the first "commandment" of any style Decalogue, but also one which (I believe) will never go out of style…

* it’s a free paraphrase by me of a quote attributed to Carrie in Sex & The City: "Men are like high heels: there are good ones who hurt us; those you don’t like from the beginning, those impossible, which can never be yours; those that appeal you at first, but then you realize that they are nothing special… and finally those that you'll never get tire of having with you!"

Sandali Vintage e Gli Uomini Sono Come Le Scarpe con il Tacco?

(Foto Private)
Giubbino in pelle - PINKO
Miniabito in seta - PINKO

* mia libera parafrasi di una frase attribuita** a Carrie di Sex & The City: "Men are like high heels: there are good ones who hurt us, those you don’t like from the beginning, those impossible, which can never be yours, those that appeal you at first, but then you realize that they are nothing special… and finally those that you'll never get tire of having with you!"

My first "flats" after some years (Isabel Marant's Caroll Sandals)

I'm back to you! In the last days I was super busy for my job... but here I'm to talk to you about my first "flats" (<4 in) after many years... I was intrigued by these sandals, and finally I bought them last week… I don’t know, my high heel attitude is deeply rooted in me, but, as Oscar Wlde said, “To believe is very dull. To doubt is intensely engrossing.” so I gave these sandals a try.. ;-)
They are Isabel Marant's "Caroll" crystal-studded leather sandals, their heels measure approximately 65mm/ 2.5 inches. They were defined as the "shoe of the season" (mmm, maybe). For sure they are perfect for summer (walking, sipping aperitifs, having beach parties…) and a perfect example of Isabel Marant's peculiar boho-chic and relaxed style. Btw: as you probably know (since each and every blogger in the blogosphere mentioned it), just yesterday H&M announced a collaboration with this French designer. This is what she said about this project: I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness. You dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy.” (isn’t this the dream of all of us, girls?)
My tips for you, 100% sincere as usual: 1) these sandals are really cute, but they don’t enhance at all your legs… think about this before buying them and team them with some shorts or short dresses/skirts, not to have your legs cut 2) they leave the feet nude, so wear them with an impeccable pedicure, they are particularly beautiful with white nail polish that matches the color of their crystal studs 3) they are quite pricey, if you like them, you can wait for the upcoming end of season sales, even if they were really successful and they are nearly sold out, in particular in the black version, my favorite (I looked for some similar styles, but I wasn’t convinced about them.., if you want to look for some budget alternatives you can read this nice post by spreadfashion blog)  4) your boy or man will probably prefer other shoes, more sexy, but you know, sometimes is nice to wear things just for you and that only you and the other girls can understand (and envy a little)… ;-)
Do you like them? I’ll post soon the photos of my outfit with them ...

XOXO
