After Light, Rock and Love... Let There Be Stripes, this seems one of the mantra of the last seasons, where we are assisting to a black and white or multicolored or plus-print stripes invasion. So here I'm to you, as a zealous blogger exploring all the new trends... with my own striped dress playing with black and gold details. My dress has black and gold zippers on the waist matching my Choo Glenys sandals's ones (I'm still in the gladiator mood). The "kinky" bag is in black leather with golden studs on one side and black leather studs on the other (220 studs in total, all of them handcrafted by our wonderful Italian artisans...). Also my ring has black and gold bands ...to escape from this monotony  I chose some retro and romantic earrings by Yvone Christa in filigree. My dress is by Markus Lupfer, the designer renowned for his "humorously subversive approach to daywear". I confess I bought this dress because it matched my Glenys zippers (yah, no joke) two years ago at "Al Duca d'Aosta" a cool multibrand store chain, who is  doing a lot of research in order to offer in their portfolio also some emerging/alternative stylists.

Are you striping too? As you probably noticed, you can find many options this season in classic black and white or multicolor or mixed with other print stripes (here for a detailed report), if you are already fed up with this trend, never mind... you can find many other prints or options this season to satisfy your desire for something new ...

Apart from showing you my Choo nerd credentials..., in this post I want to talk to you about another hot trend for this season: the return of gladiators. Few years ago we faced a gladiator invasion, mostly in the flat version with straps and buckles. There were also some heeled versions, as the Glenys model you can see in my pics. These multi-strap gladiator sandals were one of most successful shoes by this brand, and I still love to wear them, with skinnies or short dresses from day to evening (read this post by Bergdorf's blog for more advises on How to wear Gladiators when you’re short).

Well, as I anticipated you in some of my previous posts ( Spikey V.'s Valentine Wish List and Spikey V. in Wolford Tamara bondage gaiter ) gladiators are coming back in an even more strong version and often high to the knee.

These are some of my favorites:

Her Majesty of Shoegasm (ENG)

Shoes with handcuffs and keys to open them... Erotically fetish, but stylish... What do you think?
"Wow!" I thought looking at them "Jimmy CHOO truly deserves the title of Her Majesty of Shoegasm!"
(as a note Shoegasm is a term originated by Carrie in Sex and the City to describe the sexual pleasure you get from buying/wearing/ or just looking at a sassy pair of shoes _at least for Carrie and all the shoe addicts like me_ )

Shoegasm, I was telling you... no doubts, these are really shoes for a woman who likes to play with seduction and power. This is not by chance, btw: Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo's creative director declared she was heavily inspired by Helmut Newton’s photography for her FW13 collection to which these shoes belong "As I drew, I could not take my mind off Helmut Newton's artworks. His camera was often indulging on his model's legs and ankles. Newton has always shown almost fetishistic obsession for the female body, but his subjects are never portrayed as vulnerable beings. On the contrary, each model was always looking strong, powerful and in control."
But it's the ability to play gracefully with hard and fetish symbols such as handcuffs, making them funny and easy that strikes me the most about these shoes. If you are a Choo nerd you could enjoy this recent interview where Sandra explains her image of the JC woman, as a woman who likes to evolve with time and fashion, but likes also to have fun.

Handcuffs will be used also in some bags of the JC FW13 collection, like in the Ally clutch in the photo below.

Seduction, power and fun? I already made up my mind, I'll put diligently myself in a line and pre-order the Desire shoes in red as soon as the pre-orders will open ...

Sua Maestà del Regno di Shoegasm (ITA)

Scarpe di ispirazione fetish con manette alle caviglie e chiavi per aprirle... Sono il Modello Desire proposto da Jimmy Choo per la prossima collezione AI 2013. "Wow!" ho pensato "JIMMY CHOO e' davvero Sua Maestà del Regno di Shoegasm!" (ndr. shoegasm e' il termine coniato dalla mitica Carrie di Sex and The City per definire il piacere intenso nel comprare/indossare o solo vedere un fantastico paio di scarpe_ almeno per Carrie e tutte le altre shoe addict come me..._)

Puro shoegasm, dicevo... sì, non ci sono dubbi, sono scarpe per una donna che ama giocare con la seduzione ed il potere. Non è un caso: Sandra Choi, il nuovo direttore creativo di Jimmy Choo, ha, infatti, dichiarato di aver sviluppato la collezione AI 2013, a cui questo modello appartiene, ispirandosi alla fotografia di Helmut Newton. Nelle foto di Newton la donna e' ritratta con una forte carica erotica, spesso nuda, con in evidenza gambe e caviglie, e sempre come potente ed in controllo (a proposito al Palazzo delle Esposizioni di Roma fino al prossimo 21 luglio e' in corso un'importante mostra su Newton, come vi avevo segnalato tempo fa ... ). Ma quello che mi piace di più di queste scarpe è il gioco, la capacità di utilizzare elementi estremi, hard/fetish come le manette, in modo disinvolto e molto elegante, per gioco appunto o "in modo funny", come spiega in un recente video Sandra Choi. (per tutte le Choo nerds ;-) )  

Il dettaglio delle manette è stato ripreso anche su alcune borse della collezione AI13, come il modello "Ally" nella foto qui sotto.

Io ho gia' deciso, ordinerò il modello Desire in rosso bordeaux (sarà disponibile anche in nero ed altre varianti colore) non appena si apriranno le pre-ordinazioni...

Da agosto potremo vedere le foto della campagna pubblicitaria che avrà come testimonial Nicole Kidman, sensuale e raffinata.

With Rockstud it was love at first sight... A true love, of those where:

·    The first time you see each other… bum! your heart begins to beat fast, everything disappears at once and you see only the other person (the first time I saw Rockstuds in a (cool) outfit, my attention was draught entirely by them),

·    then you pretend not to care, but you continue to look after who stole your heart (Rockstuds keeping to be seen by me at the feet of VIPs, fashion bloggers and victims around the globe, me continuing to learn about them, models, colors, prices, everything…)

·    later you struggle under the doubts of love (for those of the flesh and bone kind “Did she/he notice me? “is she/he attracted by me?” or “he didn’t reply my sms, he/she is a bastard!”, etc. … with  Rockstuds it was “uh, with those pointy toes they should be very uncomfortable…” “bah, everyone wears them, they are not so original and they cost like crazy”, etc. etc.)

·    in any case you can’t but continue to think about your heart raper (“I heard about the new Rockstud red carpet version, quite new!” “uhm the new naked models… mmmh, I’m not sure, I prefer the classic ones”, etc. etc.)

·     then finally you meet your beloved (in the case of Rockstuds you try them and it’s done… you understand they are really special, a unique contrast of ladylike and rock attitude and they are really comfortable too! “Fab shoes that don’t make you suffer like an ancient Chinese girl subject to (cruel) foot binding?”

·         “I must have them!” ...true love always wins… I ordered Rockstuds online…

Okay, okay, I know... in this time we are really bothered by an hyperbolic communication, where every new trend or fashion are defined as “cult, definitive, fantastic, genial, gorgeous, iconic, iper-cool, must-have, super trendy, unbelievably sexy …” (if you are interested to learn more about this plague, maybe you can read this article, recently mentioned by the ironic (she’s half English) and smart blogger Camille Charrière. So why the hell talking about true love for Rockstuds? I wouldn’t be a shoe addict, I suppose, if I wouldn’t adore shoes… and, more seriously, Rockstuds truly deserve some love… they do have character, oh yes, and are really eye-catching (every time I wore them I was stopped by people who thought that Rockstuds were just the coolest thing since sliced bread), and they mix ladylike elegance with contemporary attitude, they feature “hot” elements such as slim pointy toes, stiletto heels and studs, they are also very adaptable (they add appeal to each outfit, both formal or more street)… okay, I stop here, but, you know, lovers always talk too much… ;-)

Here some practical advices for you:

· Rockstuds are available in many styles (slingbacks, decolletes, flats...), colors and finishes

·         I chose the ivory slingbacks, with 4” heels: I preferred this very ladylike version, perfect for any social occasion and for summer (I love whites and neutral colors on this season, as you can see from my outfit). I had tried also the black model with 2 1/2" heel, the front view was great, but the lateral view not so much in my opinion, as you can see in these photos.

·     The ivory calf model I chose is really delicate (patent leather models are more resistant): in order to keep my Rockstuds in great shape I was suggested to cover their soles with a protective layer and their points with some transparent silicone (of course these advises can work for any pointy toe shoes) and finally to polish them with some neutral shoe cream when needed… true love requires many cares and cuddles, does it? ;-)

·     Unlikely many pointed shoes, Rockstuds run very true to size.

Per le Rockstud il mio e' stato amore a prima vista. Un vero amore, di quelli in cui:

·       la prima volta che ci si vede, bum! il cuore inizia a battere forte, tutto si annebbia all’improvviso e vedi solo l'altro (le ho viste in una foto di un outfit, e wow! mi sono piaciute da morire),

·       poi si fa finta di nulla, ma ci si continua a cercare (loro, le signorine Rockstud, a farsi vedere ai piedi di vip, fashion blogger/victim del globo, io ad informarmi su di loro, caratteristiche, modelli, colori , prezzi...) ,

·       in seguito, si e' assaliti da mille incertezze (tra umani "Si sara' accorto/a di me, gli/le piacerò davvero?" oppure "Non ha risposto al mio sms, e' una/o stronza/o" etc., nel caso delle Rockstud, invece "Uh, con quella punta saranno scomodissime", "bah, ce le hanno davvero tutte, non sarebbero così originali e poi, uffa, costano davvero tanto...” etc. etc.).

·        in ogni caso non si riesce a non pensare a chi ci ha rapito il cuore (“sono uscite nella versione red carpet, da rockstar...” “Oh, anche nella versione naked, mmh, anche no..., io preferisco quelle classiche” , etc. etc.)

·        alla fine, spinti dalla passione, ci si avvicina, cioè si provano le Rockstud dal vivo ed è finita... ci si rende conto che sono veramente speciali, un mix particolare di eleganza e grinta e che sono pure molto comode... “ Una scarpa super giusta e che non richiede sofferenze per camminarci sopra da fanciulla cinese del passato a cui fasciavano barbaramente i piedi deformandoli?”  ;-)

·         “allora le devo proprio avere!” l’amore alla fine trionfa... ho ordinato le mie Rockstud online... :-)

Sì, sì lo so... siamo già sommersi e tediati da una comunicazione ipertrofica in cui ogni tendenza/ moda è “assolutamente-da-avere, definitiva, di culto, iconica, inarrivabile, inevitabile,  iper-cool, mitica, seducente, straordinaria, strabiliante, super giusta....”   ( se siete interessati ad approfondire questo abuso  forse vi potrebbe interessare leggere questo articolo, segnalato anche dall’arguta e brava blogger Camille Charrière). Quindi perchè mai angustiarvi con questa dichiarazione d’amore? Beh, se non perdessi la testa per delle scarpe non sarei una shoe addict... e poi le Rockstud fanno davvero innamorare: hanno davvero carattere, oh yes, non passano mai inosservate (le si riconosce a miglia di distanza, quando le  indosso vengo spesso fermata/ricevo complimenti sulle mie "Valentinos", come le chiamano gli americani), sono molto eleganti per la pulizia della forma e la qualità di materiali e lavorazioni, sono decisamente attuali, unendo una forma "slim" e femminile, a punta, con tacco a spillo e piccole borchie, sono molto versatili (stanno bene sia in look formali/eleganti che più casual)...ok, mi fermo qui, ma si sa gli innamorati sono prolissi...

Qualche altro dettaglio pratico per chi di voi è interessato all’argomento:

•  le Rockstud esistono in moltissimi modelli (sandali, decollete, ballerine...) , versioni ,colori e finiture io ho scelto i sandali in avorio, con tacco 10: ho preferito questa versione molto elegante e da lady, perfetta secondo me per l’estate (adoro il bianco ed i colori neutri per la bella stagione, come potete vedere nelle foto del mio outfit), avevo provato anche la versione in vitello nero con tacco 6,5 cm (foto qui sotto), che però non mi convinceva del tutto.

• i modelli in vernice sono più resistenti del modello in vitello che ho scelto io: alcuni accorgimenti che mi sono stati suggeriti per mantenere belle le mie Rockstud è quello di applicare una soletta protettiva ed antiscivolo alla suola ed applicare intorno alla punta del silicone trasparente in modo da non rovinare la punta delle scarpe stesse e poi di pulirle quando necessario con della crema neutra per calzature (questi accorgimenti sono utili per tutte le scarpe a punta, adesso super di moda come abbiamo commentato in questo blog), beh... anche le coccole e le cure fanno parte dell’amore, no? ;-)

• le Rockstud, pur essendo a punta, sono piuttosto comode e calzano di solito il proprio numero normale: hanno, infatti, una base piuttosto ampia e confortevole ed una forma che, insieme ai cinturini regolabili, raccoglie bene il piede senza costringerlo)
